Dear Missionary of the Gospel of Life:
I pray this letter finds you assured of Christ's
love for you and all of His children.
As you are aware, our Missionary Spirituality
includes living a Pro-life Lifestyle. I recently wrote a prayer for
a conference as part of my teaching. The prayer seeks to promote
reverence for the presence of Christ in the other who is made in the
Image and Likeness of God. As we seek to relate to others through
the mediation of Christ we may experience the presence of the
Other in the other or the Face in
the face. The capitalized Other and Face
represent the reality of Jesus in and with the other person.
I ask you to join me in not simply praying the
Face Prayer but in practicing this reverential lifestyle
for a at least a nine day period
or perhaps for thirty days. Please
let me know of your participation and the results of practicing this
prayer in your daily encounters with your family, friends, and
Please unite with me now in praying and
practicing this prayer. Let us pray slowly, deliberately and

I look forward to practicing this prayer with
you and discussing further the theological basis for this lifestyle
and ways the Face Prayer might be used. Please let me know
of your thoughts and experiences with the prayer.
I will let you know when the Face Prayer
Cards will be in stock so you can easily carry it with you and
share it with others.
Let us remember what Jesus said: I
say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of
mine, you did for me.
