September 2006
Dear Missionary of the Gospel of Life-Lay Associates:
I pray this letter finds you well and growing in the knowledge of the Gospel of
Life.
I have recently returned from a historic and momentous event in Amarillo, Texas,
that will further establish the culture of life on earth as in heaven. On August
24th we officially broke ground both physically and personally for the
Missionaries of the Gospel of Life (M.E.V.). Father Frank Pavone was
incardinated into the Missionaries by His Eminence, Cardinal Renato Martino,
President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace (representing our Holy
Father Benedict) and Bishop John Yanta, Diocese of Amarillo, Texas. It seemed
that both heaven and earth were hushed as Fr. Frank boldly declared his promises
to defend life in union with the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life, for the
rest of his life! What a perfect selection by our Lord and His Church to
establish and lead this timely and prophetic Society of Apostolic Life. God
bless Fr. Frank Pavone and the future of the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life.
Father Frank’s first act, as the first member, priest, and Moderator General of
the M.E.V., was to lead five lay leaders in making their Promises as Lay
Associates. My beloved wife, Joy, made her promises for a one year period, and I
made life time promises. I look forward to working with you in preparation for
the holy time when you make your promises and
become a fully recognized lay affiliate of this historic Society of Apostolic
Life. Be looking for further details on this historic and momentous day from
Father Frank and Priest for Life communications.
In the near future, you will be receiving a Lay Affiliate assessment form that
will help clarify the foundational requirements for the making of your promises.
The best preparation for meeting the basic requirements is to review all the
information at
www.priestsforlife.org/missionary, including all links and past
correspondence from me. You should also review the following articles: The
Founder's Vision for the Society and Frequently
Asked Questions.
Be sure that your pastor/priest and spiritual director (strongly recommended you
have one if not the same as your pastor/priest) are aware of your participation
in the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life. They should be aware of the basic
nature of the Society and lay participation as found at
www.priestsforlife.org/missionary and in the
lay affiliates brochure. Order a good supply.
The first Friday of the month is the day we unite
