My brother seminarians,
I write to invite you to a national conference for seminarians from August
16-21 on the pastoral dimensions of pro-life activity.
My name is Eric Bowman and I am the National Director of Seminarian Life
Link, a newly formed pro-life organization. Over the past two years, I have been
working with Fr. Frank Pavone, Co-Founder of Priests for Life, and several
seminarians to establish this organization. Our goal is to assist each other in
spiritually forming holy priests who will live out their vocation on the
cornerstone of the sacredness and dignity of all human life, born and unborn.
This organization is designed to create a means of communication and sharing of
resources, to network all seminarians across North America to support each other
in defending the Gospel of Life. We share common goals and interact with
Seminarians for Life.
One of our other major goals is to organize a national pro-life
conference/retreat for seminarians. It will take place from August 16th-21st
at the Gilmary Diocesan Center in Pittsburgh. Our format for the
conference/retreat will be to have three days of conferences with break-out
sessions and two days of retreat led by Fr. Frank Pavone. Some of the topics
covered during the conference sessions will be John Paul II’s Theology of the
Body, post-abortive healing both in counseling sessions and in the confessional,
preaching and teaching the Gospel of Life, and being the Gospel of Life.
