Letter to a hospital

Six years ago, I allowed a strange doctor to rip apart and destroy the baby that was growing inside of me. It was a breeze to make an appointment and bring my box of feminine pads and $170.00. No one asked for my age. No one told me what would happen to me on that table. No one offered any alternative such as "life" for the baby. All they wanted was my name, a urine sample and the money. Their counseling consisted of grouping 6 of us in a room, giving us valium and explaining all the different birth control methods for next time! I went into the operating room feeling a bit drowsy from the valium, laid on the table and the doctor quickly used his instruments to suction the life from my body telling me that there would be a "catch". The so called "catch", which he didn't call the baby caused a pain which I'll never forget.

No one told me that there would be an excruciating pain. Afterwards, I was face down on a cot in a room full of crying girls aching with pain when I overheard a nurse routinely saying that some of us were there too long and that others were waiting. I was shipped in and out of that room within 45 minutes. I could hardly sit in my car to drive home because the pain was so terrible. The experience itself was horrible enough, but the years of guilt and sorrow that followed were even worse.

This is abortion and whether it is done at a clinic or in a hospital makes no difference. A hospital is for sick people and pregnant girls are not sick! They are scared and alone. They have no idea what abortion is, but it seems they can quickly learn at your hospital.

It's about time you took a stand against this atrocity and speak up for what is right. This is a blatant contradiction to God's law as the Bible states in Proverbs 24:11, 12: "Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, 'But we knew nothing about this', does he who weighs the heart know it? Does he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?" You have the God given authority to change the policies at Taylor Hospital. I pray that God will speak to your heart concerning this serious matter of abortion. Until this practice is stopped, I will not sponsor your hospital in any way.
