When I asked him to stop he said lay down and shut up

How did you come to have the abortion(s), and who was involved?

Abortion #1. I was 17, single, I thought about adoption. My boyfriend wanted to marry. Marrying was out. My Dad thought abortion was the answer.

Abortion #2. I was in college, 22, single, ashamed and didn’t want anyone to know. The abortion clinic said I had 3 choices and didn't explain anything to me.

How would you describe your abortion(s)?

Abortion #1. Very painful.

Abortion # 2. The doctor said he would stop if I felt a pain. When I asked him to stop he said lay down and shut up.

How did your abortion(s) affect you and others?

Me -- lots of guilt, remorse, loss of concentration, withdrawal, low self-esteem. 

Others - Broken relationships with the men involved.

Please describe what you have done to deal with your abortion(s), and whether it helped.

Lots of Prayer. I was involved in WEBA for a while.

How do you think your abortion(s) changed your life?

I currently have 2 healthy children I adore and wonder what I missed. Still lots of guilt and regret over 10 years later.
