Washington, DC- Priests for Life, a national anti-abortion organization, issued the following statement today urging support for the Positive Alternatives Act (SF917 in the Senate and HF952 in the House).

"Women do not get abortions because of freedom of choice, but because they feel they have no freedom and no choice," said Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. "This bill will help to correct that problem by funding practical alternatives to abortion. We at Priests for Life ask the Churches to lend vigorous support to its passage, and we also challenge 'pro-choice' groups to support it. Those who don’t simply display their hypocrisy and again prove that they are interested in promoting only one choice, abortion."
