Fr. Pavone praises Bishop Listecki for defense of Church
teachings on abortion
New York City- Fr. Frank Pavone, national director of
Priests for Life, issued the following press release today in gratitude to
Bishop Jerome E. Listecki of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, who recently released a
"policy of prudence" regarding invitations to speakers, in order to prevent
misunderstanding or confusion about the teachings of the Catholic Church on
abortion, homosexuality and other moral issues.
Said Fr. Pavone, "Priests for Life thanks Bishop Listecki for
exercising vigilance in the matter of the positions of speakers at Catholic
events. When this relates to abortion, it is about more than defending the
integrity of Catholic teaching. It's about opposing an act of violence that cuts
across and transcends all religious beliefs. I challenge those who don't
