Fr. Frank Pavone Lauds South Dakota Governor's Signing of Abortion Ban

 

 

New York-- "The first purpose of any government is to protect people," states Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life.  "Today, Governor Mike Rounds acted on that purpose by signing into law protection for the least powerful and least influential among us, the unborn."

 

While some have questioned the timing of the South Dakota legislature in enacting an abortion ban at this time, Fr. Pavone praises the action.  "We don't know what the configuration of the Supreme Court will be when the inevitable legal challenge finally reaches it.  The moral courage of South Dakota's legislature and governor give us hope that the states will begin, one by one, to reassert their rights to make their own laws on abortion and protect their unborn children."
