“Let the Truth Be Told” Says Fr. Pavone on Kansas
Botched Abortion Case
“When a 19-year-old disabled woman is dead
from abortion complications, justice demands that her death be fully
investigated,” declares Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life.
“The people of Kansas and the nation have a right to know what happened to
Christin Gilbert. Let the truth be told.”
Fr. Pavone’s comments come in response to the
ordering of a grand jury investigation into the January 2005 case of a young
woman with Down’s syndrome who died after a late-term abortion performed by Dr.
George Tiller. The investigation was triggered by Sedgwick County, Kansas,
residents who filed over 7,000 signatures demanding that the case be examined.
“I have picketed George Tiller’s facility,
spoken to his former employees, and offered to have personal meetings with him,”
Fr. Pavone stated. “I pray that this inquiry will bring the grace of
repentance to him and comfort to Miss Gilbert’s loved ones.”
