Fr. Pavone: The House Is Right – The Military Shouldn't Be Deployed Against Unborn Babies

“Our brave men and women in the military are there to defend and save lives,” declares Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life.  “I agree with the House.  The military shouldn’t be deployed against unborn babies.”  

Fr. Pavone’s comments are in reaction to the defeat Thursday in the House of Representatives of an amendment by New Jersey Democrat Robert Andrews to require military hospitals to provide abortions for any reason.  The amendment lost on a 237 to 191 vote, continuing a policy set by Congress in 1996.

“Soldiers protect our nation,” states Fr. Pavone.  “We should protect their children.”
