Fr. Pavone on New Texas Abortion Rules for Minors:
Verification Means Lives Saved
AMARILLO, TX - Fr. Frank Pavone,
National Director of Priests for Life, today praised the Texas Medical Board for
adopting new rules requiring that the signatures of the abortionist, a parent,
and the minor girl be notarized on parental consent for abortion forms.
The rules were drafted in response to a parental consent for abortion law passed
by the Texas legislature last year.
“The obvious intent of the Texas legislature was
to ensure that parents are involved in their minor daughter’s abortion decision,
a decision that could drastically alter many lives,” said Fr. Pavone.
“Abortionists cannot be trusted to do the right thing. These new rules
will help verify that the legislature’s intent is carried out, as it should be.”
