Fr. Pavone Urges Illinois Supreme Court to Expedite
Parental Notification Rules
Amarillo, TX - Fr. Frank Pavone, National
Director of Priests for Life, today urged the Illinois Supreme Court to act
swiftly in issuing rules for a parental notification for abortion law passed in
1995. The Court has unanimously voted to reverse its stance of over ten
years ago, when the Illinois high court refused to write judicial waiver appeals
rules that would have let the law take effect.
“I applaud the current court’s vote and urge it
to issue the parental notification rules as soon as possible to protect Illinois
families,” said Fr. Pavone. “Most states have parental involvement laws
regarding abortions performed on minors. There is no reason Illinois
should be different.”
