National Priest Leader; Do Not Weaken Language on Abortion

Amarillo, TX – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, commented today on the concern some pro-life activists expressed upon hearing pro-life leaders praise the President for promising to veto legislation that would weaken Federal laws and policies on abortion.  These activists asked, “How can you ‘weaken’ Federal policies and laws on abortion when present abortion laws and policies allow an unborn baby to be legally butchered at any time from conception to the nanosecond before a hair or a toe of the baby emerges from the birth-mother’s vagina?”

Fr. Pavone said, “Amen!  I want to thank these activists for raising this point, as I also have done many times.  We need plain talk about abortion – it is a daily holocaust, and it must end.  In thanking the President for opposing the efforts of the abortion activists to do things like force taxpayers to pay for more abortions, we must not lose sight of the fact that the fundamental problem remains – namely, the law allows these babies to be murdered.”

“I do thank the President for his stand on life.  I also challenge all my fellow citizens – Wake up!  Look at the reality of what we are tolerating.  Examine the pictures of the butchered babies; read the descriptions of the procedures that kill them.  And then ask yourself, before God, what you’re going to do to stop it.”
