Priests for Life to Launch Humanae Vitae Observance
Amarillo, TX – Fr. Frank Pavone,
National Director of Priests for Life, announced today that starting on July 25,
Priests for Life will launch a special year-long observance leading up to the 40th
anniversary of the encyclical “Humanae Vitae.”
“On July 25, 1968, Pope Paul VI
proclaimed in a clear and prophetic way the demands of the Gospel regarding how
we approach human life and sexuality,” said Fr. Pavone. “Thirty-nine years
later, his message is even more timely and urgent to hear. The purpose of
this observance is to help people hear it, starting with churchgoing Catholics.”
Priests for Life has established
a special website, www.HumanaeVitae40.org, though which
resources will be shared for clergy and laity alike, and special events
announced. The first step in taking part in these observances, Fr. Pavone
explained, is quite simple: “Read the document.”
Priests for Life is the
nation's largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and
euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.
