Dr. Alveda King: Sen. Obama Should “Heed His Own Words” When Voting for Supreme Court Justices

 

Atlanta, GA – Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., today reacted to Sen. Barack Obama’s statements yesterday at a Planned Parenthood event that the current Supreme Court casts aside “inconvenient” science in making its abortion decisions and that the courts should be “the refuge of the powerless.”

 

“When Senator Obama or any other pro-abortion advocate says that science should trump ideology when it comes to abortion, I just wish that he would stop and realize that pro-lifers totally agree,” said Dr. King.  “Science is indisputably clear – abortion kills a living human being.  It’s the ideology of those who call themselves pro-choice that leads them to ignore this inconvenient scientific fact.  If Senator Obama really does want the courts to be ‘the refuge of the powerless,’ he needs to heed his own words and vote for justices who will stand for the most powerless, the unborn.”
