Abortion Forum Seeks to "Crack the Whip" on Dissent Say "Silent No More" Leaders

Staten Island, NY – The leaders of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, the nation’s largest network of women and men harmed by abortion, today criticized a NY Salon panel discussion to be held tonight in New York City entitled, “What’s So Bad about Abortion?”

“This NY Salon event is not a forum or debate,” said Janet Morana, SNMAC co-founder. “It’s a disciplinary meeting where those in the abortion movement will be told to fall in line. The so called pro-choice side has had defectors lately who can’t stomach things like partial-birth abortion or who dare to acknowledge the truth that women suffer emotional or physical hurt from the procedure. Those who profit from abortion will not tolerate such sensitivity. Tonight, I’m sure they’ll crack the whip.”

“The organizers of this event want to trivialize women like me,” added Georgette Forney, also an SNMAC co-founder. “They really ask the question, ‘What’s so bad about abortion?’, to mock anyone who expresses the slightest queasiness about ripping an unborn baby’s limbs apart or who feels remorse for a lost life. Having heard the testimonies of thousands of post-abortive women like myself, I can tell them what’s so bad about abortion. It’s obvious these people don’t care about women; their concern is abortion.”

Since the launching of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign in 2003, 2,326 women and men have shared their testimonies publicly at 189 gatherings in 44 states and six countries where more than 15,000 spectators have heard the truth about abortion’s negative after-effects. More than 4,100 people are registered to be Silent No More. Raising awareness about the hurtful aftermath of abortion and the help that is available to cope with the pain are two of the Campaign’s goals.
