Fr. Pavone Urges
Alabama Officials to Keep Pledge on Abortion Clinic Inspections

Washington, DC – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of
Priests for Life, today urged Alabama health department officials to follow
through on their promise to inspect the state's eight abortion centers on an
annual basis.
"It's encouraging that Alabama has hired more staff to police the conditions at
abortion facilities in the state," said Fr. Pavone. "Given that previous
inspections resulted in three out of Alabama's eight abortion centers being shut
down for shoddy practices and conditions, it's absolutely incumbent upon
officials to keep their pledge to monitor these facilities on a timely basis.
Making abortion legal has obviously not made it safe."
