Staten Island, NY – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today said that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision ordering Arizona to permit the issuance of "Choose Life" license plates is a victory for free speech.

"That the Arizona License Plate Commission tried to censor pro-lifers while allowing other groups to have license plates was clearly discriminatory," stated Fr. Pavone. "It's reassuring that a federal court has declared that pro-lifers have the same First Amendment rights as everyone else. Priests for Life has vigorously promoted Choose Life license plates and urges pastors to work with their people and their state legislators to adopt them."
