King Joins Host Committee for Pro-Life Black History Month Events

Washington, DC – Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life and
niece of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has been named to the host
committee of a coalition of African American civil rights activists who will
meet in the nation's capital on February 28 for a day of events examining the
impact of abortion on the black community.
"No threat has done more harm to African Americans in the last century than the
plague of abortion," said Dr. King. "Fifteen million black people have died at
the hands of the abortion industry. That’s one-third of the current African
American population. No accounting of Black History is complete without the
recognition that abortion has had and continues to have a devastating impact on
our lives and our future. That recognition is what this day will be about and
I’m honored to be a part of it."Priests for Life is the nation's largest
Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For
