Governor
Sebelius Should Sign Abortion Bill Says Fr. Frank Pavone |
|
|
Amarillo, TX – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of
Priests for Life, today said that Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius should sign
a bill passed by the state senate yesterday dealing with abortion. The
measure would require that a woman be offered an opportunity to view an
ultrasound image of her child prior to an abortion and strengthens reporting
requirements for late term abortions.
“Unless one believes that increasing the number of
abortions is more important than the concept of informed consent, there’s no
plausible reason to oppose giving a woman the chance to see an image of her baby
prior to an abortion,” said Fr. Pavone. “It’s amazing how some
public officials who claim to favor ‘choice’ so strongly oppose efforts to
inform to the abortion client exactly what the choice entails.”
