Gov. Granholm Should Rise Above Politics and
Sign Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Says National Priest Leader |

Staten Island, NY – Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm should ignore
abortion industry extremists and sign the partial-birth abortion ban passed
by the Michigan legislature Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests
for Life, said today.
“There has been a longstanding dispute over Governor Granholm’s
conflicting claims to be Catholic and also supportive of the ‘right to
choose’ abortion,” Fr. Pavone said. “If she vetoes this bill, that dispute
will only intensify. But signing it is no imposition of Catholic doctrine.
It’s just that the Catholic Church teaches that its members aren’t allowed
to tolerate child-killing. It’s not so much about Catholic doctrine as it is
about human decency.”
