Amarillo, TX – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life,
announced today the culmination of a three-year project to assist priests to
preach on abortion and the Culture of Life.
“For the past three years, I have written homily hints on how to take the
readings assigned to each Sunday and preach on abortion,” Fr. Pavone said.
“The lectionary has a three-year Sunday cycle, and today we completed the
reflections for each Sunday of each of the three years. Now, these homily
hints can be used as each cycle continues to repeat through the years.”
Fr. Pavone has preached on abortion throughout the 50 states each day
since September of 1993. A careful analysis of the responses of the people,
integrated with a careful study of the pastoral plan of the United States
bishops, has produced an approach that preachers can rely on with
confidence.
The reflections are available online at
www.priestsforlife.org/liturgy. Priests, deacons, and parish ministers
can also receive a weekly email with the homily hints for upcoming Sundays,
as well as a set of General Intercessions for Mass and a paragraph on
pro-life issues for the parish bulletin. The email can be requested at
