Staten Island, NY – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life,
said today that a bill to extend South Carolina’s waiting period prior to an
abortion from 60 minutes to 24 hours could only help fulfill a goal sought by
President Obama and other so called “pro-choicers.”
“Do I hope that increasing South Carolina’s waiting period from one hour to one
day results in fewer abortions? Of course,” said Fr. Pavone. “What I don’t
understand is why pro-choice people, who always say they want to reduce the
number of abortions, find it so wrong that a woman reflect on her decision and
maybe let her child live.”
