Staten Island, NY – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life,
commented today on a new Pew Research poll showing significant movement away
from support of abortion on demand.
“Since October, the percentage of those who want abortion legal in all or most
cases has dropped nine points, while the percentage of those who think abortion
should be illegal in all or most cases has risen eight points. That’s an
extraordinary turnaround in a relatively short period. The President’s extremism
on abortion may well be causing a backlash. The American people simply do not
support, and have never supported, abortion on demand. This is a good
opportunity for them to solidify their opposition to that extreme policy,” Fr.
Pavone concluded.
