Rev. Vernon C. King Mourned by Dr. Alveda King, Fr. Frank Pavone

Staten Island, NY – Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., commented today on the passing of her brother, Rev. Vernon C. King.

“My dear brother Vernon spent his life fulfilling the two great commandments, to love God and love your neighbor as yourself,” said Dr. King. “I will miss him being with us on this earth, but memories of Vernon will keep me smiling through the tears.”

Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, added, “Rev. King touched so many lives in so many ways. I had the pleasure of meeting him at many family occasions, and I know he will continue to be an example and inspiration to all who seek a more loving and just society.”
