In an unprecedented step, Priests for Life, the international Catholic, pro-life organization, today announced that it has contacted every parish in the United States with an offer to provide election-related materials completely free of charge, and an urgent plea to speak up as elections draw near.

"We have prepared an effective kit that will have results," said Fr. Frank Pavone, Founding Director of the pro-life organization which Patricia Ireland, former president of NOW, said "spans the mainstream and the extreme" of the anti-abortion movement. "All our pro-abortion friends know the impact we had on the elections two years ago; that's why they protested against me last year at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. I hope they are preparing another protest to follow this year's elections."

"Priests for Life is a non-profit 501c3 organization, and as such, we do not endorse any particular candidates or political parties. Our law firm, Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman, and Dicker, LLP, reviews all our public statements and activities to make sure we are in strict compliance with IRS guidelines." Nevertheless, Fr. Frank insists there is a lot more that all Church organizations can do to ensure that, as our bishops have urged, believers use their vote to advance a Culture of Life.

"We tend to be over-cautious. It is time to run our 19,000 parishes less like lawyers and more like prophets," concluded Fr. Frank.

Along with educational materials for the parishes, Priests for Life will use radio spots and full-page ads as the elections approach.

To arrange an interview with Fr. Pavone, or to receive a sample Mid-Term election pack, please contact Jerry Horn at (540) 220-0095.
