STATEN ISLAND, NY -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today praised Gov. Mary Fallin and Oklahoma lawmakers for enacting legislation to ensure that a woman who receives a dreaded diagnosis for her unborn child also receives information on available care for her and her baby.
“All too often, when a mother receives the news that her unborn child likely faces a brief lifespan after birth, she faces incredible pressure to have that child killed,” said Fr. Pavone. “For years, we have been promoting perinatal hospice care, and this new law gives countless women that loving alternative to abortion.
“Governor Fallin and the Oklahoma legislature are to be commended for their compassionate and caring efforts to help mothers and fathers facing such heart-wrenching crises.”
Fr. Frank concluded, "When a child is very ill before birth, just as after, what matters most is not how much time the child has to live, but how much love we have to give that child."
