"Brittany’s death was not a victory for a political cause"

NEW YORK, NY -- Janet Morana, Executive Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement after learning of the suicide of Brittany Maynard, a young woman in Oregon who decided to die under the state’s Death with Dignity law rather than continue to battle an aggressive brain cancer.

“We are saddened by the fact that this young woman gave up hope, and now our concern is for other people with terminal illnesses who may contemplate following her example. Our prayer is that these people will find the courage to live every day to the fullest until God calls them home. Brittany’s death was not a victory for a political cause. It was a tragedy, hastened by despair and aided by the culture of death invading our country.”

Priests for Life is the nation's largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.

The sadest thing is she died to stop the suffering but now she is sufferering much more since she went against God's plan for her and made herself the master of her own life by taking it. God is the master of all life. Its sad because it is for an eternity. Pray for her.

its said to see a young life , giving up hope at a very young age. Many ppl suffer through the same fate but decide to step up and fight with hope and faith.

In this case no hope" no faith" absolutely No God" sad to say, many ppl enjoy so much wealth and prestige, fame, publicity, have pride and all kinds of material that world system can offer you, without GOD life is meaning less.
Gone are the days that ppl can go by saying" I don't have to know God". This era if u have No God in you , u r I endangering your life.

i was saddened by the death of this poor girl who thought the only way was to end her life...my daughter told me yesterday and my heart felt such grief. I cried knowing the outcome of this for others and I could only pray God was Merciful given all the prayers said for her. No one wants to feel pain when they die. No one wants their death to linger on in pain. But, our pain can be a road to save someone else's soul or to bring them to their final Heavenly Home, Jesus. Christ suffered for us, for our sins that we may inherit heaven isn't right that we should be like Him and suffer for our brother?
