The Catholic View for Women returns to EWTN for fifth season

Priests for Life

11/3/2015

EWTN viewers will be treated to a fifth season of countercultural conversation and spiritual insight as The Catholic View for Women debuts brand new episodes this week. The show airs at 11 p.m. ET on Wednesday, and at 10:30 a.m. ET Friday.

Co-hosts Janet Morana, Teresa Tomeo and Astrid Bennett Gutierrez are all back on set for a provocative season that takes on the chastity choice for women and men; the physically and emotionally harmful effects of hormonal contraception and in vitro fertilization; how to discern a vocation to marriage or the religious life, and how to encourage a spouse on his or her faith journey.

“We are so blessed to be able to reach the vast EWTN audience with the kind of woman-centered talk show that is missing on secular TV,” said Mrs. Morana, executive director of Priests for Life, co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and author of “Recall Abortion” (Saint Benedict Press). “You won’t hear the gossip of the day, but we hope you will come away inspired.”

"Looking for guidance in finding God's will in your life? Wondering how you can be a more effective Catholic witness? Standing up for the sacrament of marriage in our anything-goes culture? These are just a few of the issues we will be addressing on our fifth season of The Catholic View for Women,” Ms. Tomeo said. “It is so exciting to offer such a variety of topics that will address the questions on the hearts of Catholic and other Christian women.  We hope everyone will enjoy The Catholic View."

“This season's topics are so timely,” noted Ms. Gutierrez. “In this moment when natural marriage is so attacked and distorted and young people feel discouraged by the culture of divorce, the topics we will present will include interviews with young people and married couples living out God's plan for human love joyfully and courageously. Our episodes will equip you with sage advice from those who are living the Church's teachings, always by the grace of God. “

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and adviser on The Catholic View, commented that “no other television show assigns homework to its viewers, but those who do the suggested readings that are linked to each episode will deepen their faith and strengthen their witness as Catholics in a world that is increasingly hostile to our views.”
