Priests for Life ministries to lead multiple events Jan. 21-22 at D.C. March for Life

Priests for Life

Priests for Life and its affiliate ministries will lead four major events during this year’s March for Life in Washington, D.C. The events include:
Jan. 21, 9 a.m. – National Prayer and protest rally outside Planned Parenthood.
Jan. 21, 2 p.m. – Official March for Life Youth Rally.
Jan. 22, 8:30 a.m. - National Memorial for the Pre-born and Their Mothers and Fathers.
Jan. 22, 2 p.m. - Silent No More Awareness Campaign gathering.
“This year’s March for Life comes at a time when we are closer to abolishing abortion than at any time since 1973,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life.  “The public continues to awaken to the violence of abortion, and as a result, numerous laws have been passed to protect the child in the womb, Congress has voted to defund Planned Parenthood and the number of abortions committed in this country is steadily decreasing. Now is the time to increase the pressure on our elected officials and to make sure our voices are heard around the country.”
On Thursday morning the 21st, the prayer and protest at Planned Parenthood will take place outside the building under construction at 1225 4th Street NE. A prayer rally will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Father Pavone, along with Priests for Life’s Father Stephen Imbarrato and Bryan Kemper, will be among the national pro-life leaders who will lead the event. Lila Rose of Live Action and David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress will also speak. The Pro-life Action League, Citizens for a Pro-life Society, and Created Equal are co-sponsors of the event.
The official March for Life Youth Rally is organized every year by Mr. Kemper, Priests for Life’s Youth Outreach Director. It will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday the 21st at the Renaissance Washington Downtown Hotel at 999 Ninth St. NW. Speakers will include Father Pavone; Janet Morana, co-founder of Silent No More, and a number of women and men from the campaign; Lila Rose of Live Action; Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation and Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life of America. David Bereit, executive director of 40 Days for Life, will deliver the keynote address. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.
On Friday, Jan. 22, the day of the March itself, the 22nd annual National Memorial for the Pre-born (  will take place at Constitution Hall at 1776 D St. NW. The interdenominational event is the premiere prayer service during the March for Life.  A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. and the prayer service will begin at 8:30 a.m. Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback will be in attendance to receive the National Pro-Life Recognition Award for his role this past year in being the first governor to sign into law the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act. Inspirational singer/guitarist Tony Melendez will perform. Father Pavone will deliver the keynote address.
The Silent No More gathering ( will begin in front of the Supreme Court building immediately following the March for Life. Janet Morana and Georgette Forney, the co-founders of the Campaign, will lead the gathering. Father Stephen Imbarrato, who lost twins to abortion as a young man, will offer his testimony and talk about his subsequent journey to the priesthood. Also, as Healing the Shockwaves of Abortion enters its second year, others who have been impacted by abortion – grandparents, siblings, former abortion workers – will join mothers and fathers in sharing their testimony.
Details of all these events can be found online at
