Fr. Pavone asks Catholics to sign an open letter to Tim Kaine

Tells presidential hopeful you can’t be Catholic and pro-abortion

Priests for Life

NEW YORK -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, is asking Catholics to sign on to an Open Letter to Tim Kaine, the Democratic vice presidential hopeful who describes himself as Catholic but believes that abortion must remain legal.

“The assertion that your "personal beliefs’ and ‘public actions’ can remain separate on this issue simply does not hold water,” Father Pavone wrote in the open letter. “The Tim Kaine who believes things privately  is the same person who permits them publicly -- one person, one name, one conscience.

“Some have described you as a “Pope Francis Catholic." Would that this were the case. There is only one Catholicism, and Pope Francis embraces it. That Catholicism calls for acceptance of all the teachings of the Church, including the teaching that the unborn child is to be treated as a person. To hold that these children can be legally killed is not to treat them as persons.”

The open letter is similar to one Father Pavone penned in 2013 to then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who calls herself Catholic but insists that abortion is “sacred ground” in her political life.

In his letter to Kaine, Father Pavone said: “You claim to be Catholic and yet support the legal killing of more than a million children a year. The only logical explanation for this is that you are seeking to please both the Democratic party -- which will not tolerate anyone in your position who tries to protect unborn children -- and Catholic voters -- who may be led to vote for you because you say you are "Catholic."

As he did with Ms. Pelosi, Father Pavone calls on Kaine to “simply be consistent and honest. Either call for the protection of unborn children, or admit that you reject the call of the Catholic Church to do so.”

“Tim Kaine will be in the national spotlight tonight as he debates his Republican rival, Mike Pence,” Father Pavone noted. “We can’t be sure the subject of Kaine’s false Catholicism will come up, but by signing this open letter, people of faith can let him know what they think about his pro-abortion stance. Please sign it today!”

Praying for you sir. But please do not call yourself a Catholic. Anyone who states they are a Christian and endorses the murdering of innocents is nothing short of a heretic and an accomplice to those murders. Please go to Confession, confess your sins, and follow the Lord's will while there is still time to save yourself.

How you could possibly condone Hillary's position on abortion in the last trimester of pregnancy is just plain evil. This is no less than infanticide, this is murder. You have excommunicated yourself from the Catholic Church by this position.

How in your right mind can you call yourself a Catholic and with a clear conscious receive communion with without feeling guilt knowing you are going against the right of life. Murder is murder and destroying innocent humans beings that can't help them self is truly the greatest sin of all.

You should be ashamed of what you preach. You are not a Catholic and believing in or agreeing with your party's stance on abortion is against everything our faith and the Lord teaches. You have excommunicated yourself from the Catholic Church and should not be allowed to receive the sacraments.

History will remember that we were a society who killed our unborn babies! So sad. Why would anyone who could be a voice for good in our society want to have a part in any of this. If you are going for votes......stop and think the only vote that matters in the end is the one Our Lord Jesus Christ will cast for you on Judgement day.

Complete baloney to attack Tim Kaine. Tim Kaine is a good man who lives his Catholic faith for his entire lifetime. You, obviously, have a very poor grasp on Tom Kaine's positions on the issues. Don't be duped by right wing attempts to falsely smear an honest public servant like Tim Kaine who has done more by living his faith than most Republican officals who are at war on the middle class and the poor on a wide range of issues. Those who promote "single issue politics" are naively contributing to the continuing oppression of millions of the poor and middle class in this country,
Pope Francis has attacked Donald Trump and his polices as "UnChristian"...Donald Trump has attacked Pope Francis and insulted him.
Any Catholic who votes for Donald Trump and his running mate is not a good Catholic.

Numerous publications have documented that Abortions have gone down dramatically because of policies in Democratic Administrations. And Abortions gone up in Republican Administrations. Do not be foolish sheep who are conned into supporting the corrupt Republican Party run by large corporations that oppress the poor and middle class. If so, you are complete fools!!!
