WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will be a keynote speaker at the second annual National Rosary Rally, to take place Saturday, Oct. 7 in Washington, D.C.

The rally is the culmination of a 54 Day Novena for Our Nation that began in August. The rally will be a celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

The National Rosary Rally will begin at noon at Upper Senate Park next to the Russell Senate building. All four Rosaries will be prayed, along with intentions including respect for life at all stages of development; the sanctity of marriage and families; upholding constitutionally protected religious freedom; and the return of the U.S. to God and Holiness.

Father Pavone will speak at 12:20 p.m. and will lead the Joyful rosary, with respect for life as its intention.

Other speakers will include EWTN’s Jim and Joy Pinto and Doug Barry; Sister Mary Brigid Callan of the Diocese of Steubenville, Ohio, and Monsignor Charles Pope of the Archdiocese of Washington, and a prolific writer. Chuck Neff, host of Relevant Radio’s “Inner Life,” will serve as master of ceremonies, and Father Richard Heilman of the Diocese of Madison, WI, will open and close the rally with prayer.

“Praying together as a community of believers is one of the most important things we can do,” Father Pavone said. “Our nation is divided and we must pray for unity so that we can address our problems, including the legalized murder of our unborn brothers and sisters.”

Father Stephen Imbarrato, a priest associate of Priests for Life and an event organizer, said “This 54 Day Novena for Our Nation and National Rosary Rally come at a critical and most serious time of crisis in our country.  I cannot think of a more powerful response on the part of Catholics than to pray, fast and come together for the conversion of our nation.”
