Titusville, FL – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today praised the Indiana legislature for passing a bill to update abortion complication reporting requirements. The measure would also ensure that abortion facilities are inspected annually.

“One of the sad truths about abortion clinics is that the harm they do to women is far more than anyone knows. This legislation will correct that, whether an abortion complication arises immediately or weeks or months later,” said Fr. Pavone. “Indiana lawmakers are to be praised for bringing more transparency to the abortion industry.”

Fr. Pavone continued, “I’ve been involved for 25 years in uncovering the filth of the abortion industry. The book Lime 5, which I helped to compile over two decades ago, gives a glimpse into the way the abortion industry evades inspections and covers up their dirty tracks. And my work with former abortionists and clinic workers confirms that the more you look, the more you find abuses of every kind in the abortion industry. The filthy equipment, untrained staff, and expired medications uncovered in the case of notorious Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell (now in prison for life) represent more abortion clinics than anyone cares to admit.”

The Indiana legislature has sent to the desk of Governor Eric Holcomb a bill that will have doctors, hospitals, and clinics report to the state instances where women seek treatment for medical complications arising from abortion. The measure also makes annual inspections of abortion clinics mandatory. At present, such inspections are optional.

“I urge Gov. Holcomb to sign this legislation so that we can begin to rein in an industry that completely out of control across this nation,” Fr. Pavone concluded.
