Priests for Life Outlines Strategic Actions for Pro-life Month
Taking its cue from a series of studies recently done on the attitudes of the
American people on abortion, Priests for Life is proposing a number of concrete
steps for parishes to take to move their people to a more strong and active
pro-life position.
The strategy focuses attention on what people find most troubling about the
status quo regarding abortion, such as a) the reasons women give for obtaining
them, and b) the timing of the abortions.
Priests for Life has taken facts from pro-abortion sources and translated
them into three new resources:
1) bulletin inserts;
2) a booklet on how to preach about abortion, and
3) educational drawings depicting the D and E (dilatation and evacuation)
procedure, used for late-term abortions (This item will be released in 2000.)
Priests for Life is also urging pastors to permanently place on the cover of
their parish bulletin a phone number which would refer people to alternatives to
abortion. Pastors can choose such a number from a variety of local or national
hotlines.
