My dear friends,

I invite you to join me for two special events on January 22, 2004 in Washington, DC.

The first, which is the largest indoor pro-life event on Capitol Hill, is the National Memorial for the Pre-born and their Mothers and Fathers. It is a fabulous event, that I have been attending every January 22 since it began ten years ago.

The event is sponsored by the National Pro-life Religious Council, of which I serve as President, and includes clergy of many different denominations. The prayers, the singing, and the dramatic presentations at this event are most inspiring. This year I will preach the sermon for this event, and will also present a new national pro-life award.

The event begins at 9:30am. It will be held in Room 216 of the "Hart Building," one of the US Senate office buildings in Washington on Constitution Avenue, NE, just north of the US Capitol.

I know that many of you come to Washington, DC for the Annual March for Life. As usual, I will be there too, and will be eager to greet as many of you as possible as you pass by the steps of the Supreme Court. But I can think of no better way to prepare for the March than by the prayerful experience of this Annual Memorial. There is no charge. Please come and join me and so many other Christian leaders from around the country!

Then, at 5pm at the steps of the Supreme Court, the Silent No More Awareness Campaign will have a sharing of public testimonies from women who have had abortions. Jennifer O'Neill, the national celebrity spokesperson for this campaign, will lead the way. Also present will be singer Melba Moore, and civil rights/pro-life activist Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. You won't want to miss this moving and prayerful event.
