New Life

Oh, the darkness of this day
How to face this end
Once I was so free from care
How will this new life blend?

Inside me I can feel the pull
The labor pains begin
I felt the earth had swallowed me
My thoughts were steeped in sin

I did not wish this brand new life
Now cared to call it mine
But now such joy comes over me
And lo, the sun will shine

The darkness now dispelled away
Inside my heart and mind
I'm faithful, Lord, You helped me see
New life can be so kind.
