Early Voting in ALABAMA

Early voting in person - It is not permitted in this state to vote in person before Election Day.

By mail - A qualified voter may vote by mail if he will be out of his county of residence on Election Day, if he is physically incapable of voting in person, or for other reasons delineated on the absentee ballot application.  An absentee ballot application must be turned in no later than the fifth calendar day before the election to the Absentee Election Manager at the voter’s County Circuit Clerk’s Office.  A directory of County Circuit Clerks is available at www.sos.alabama.gov/vb/election/all.aspx?trgtoffice=Circuit%20Clerk.  An absentee ballot application may be obtained at www.sos.alabama.gov/downloads/dl3.aspx?trgturl=election/general/absenteeballotapp.pdf&trgtfile=absenteeballotapp.pdf.  An absentee ballot must either be postmarked no later than the day before the election or returned in person to the office of the Absentee Election Manager by close of business on the day before the election.
