Early Voting in ALASKA
In person - Anyone eligible to vote may vote early in person 15 days
before an election. The locations of absentee voting offices are listed at
www.elections.alaska.gov/avo08.php.
By mail - Anyone eligible to vote may do so by absentee ballot through
the mail. A voter must first file an application for an absentee ballot. This
application may be requested at any time during the year, but must be received
by the Division of Elections no later than ten days prior to Election Day.
Actual ballots will be mailed to applicants one to two weeks prior to the
election; earlier if you will be in a remote region of the state or out of the
country 60 days prior to Election Day. To request a vote-by-mail absentee ballot

By fax - Anyone eligible to vote may do so by fax in the 15 days prior to
a primary or general election. An application for absentee voting by fax may be
obtained on the internet at:
www.ltgov.state.ak.us/elections/forms/c07.pdf. (PDF format) An
application for fax voting must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM the day
before the election. Please be aware that if you vote by fax, you waive your
right to a secret ballot.
