Early Voting in DELAWARE
Early voting in person - It is not permitted in this state to vote in
person before Election Day.
By mail - A qualified voter may vote by mail if he will be out of town
on Election Day, is physically disabled or ill, is performing public service for
the state or nation, the tenets of his religion prevent him from voting that
day, or he is incarcerated for a non-felony crime. The voter must complete a separate Affidavit for Absentee Voting for the primary and general elections. The Affidavit for the Primary is available at
http://elections.delaware.gov/services/voter/pdfs/Primary%20Affidavit%20-%20Page%201.pdf and the Affidavit for the General Election is available at
http://elections.delaware.gov/services/voter/pdfs/General%20Affidavit%20-%20Page%201.pdf. Depending on the reason given for voting absentee, the voter's
signature on the ballot may have to be notarized. Ballots must be returned to
the Department of Elections in the county where the voter resides no later than
Election Day.
