In person: A voter may cast an in person absentee
ballot at the Board of Elections office Monday through Saturday beginning 15
days before the election and ending the day before the election.
By mail: A voter’s request for an absentee ballot by
mail must reach the Board of Elections no later than seven days before the
election. An Application for Mail Absentee Ballot is available at
www.dcboee.org/serv/Download_index.shtm. Absentee ballots must be returned to the Board on or before
Election Day.
