2015 Elections (See 2016 Election information)

Kentucky will elect a Governor in 2015

State Primary voter registration deadline – April 20, 2015

State Primary date – May 19, 2015

General Election voter registration deadline – October 5, 2015

General Election date – November 3, 2015

Early voting

In person:

You may vote early in person only if you do not qualify for a vote-by-mail absentee ballot (see “By mail” below) and you will be out of the county on Election Day or you are a pregnant woman in her third trimester or you are a precinct worker assigned to work outside of your precinct or you or your spouse has surgery scheduled for Election Day.

For those who qualify, early in person voting is available between May 1, 2015 and May 18, 2015 for the Primary; between October 16, 2015 and November 2, 2015 for the General Election.

By mail:

You may vote early by mail only if you cannot get to the polls due to advanced age, disability, or medical emergency; you are in the armed services or a dependent of someone in the armed services; you temporarily live outside the state; you are a student attending school outside the county of your residence; or you work outside your county of residence and cannot get to the polls on Election Day or during early in person voting.

Those who qualify for early voting by mail may request an absentee ballot no later than May 12, 2015 for the Primary; October 27, 2015 for the General Election. Absentee ballots must be returned by Election Day.

2016 Elections

Kentucky will elect a U.S. Senator in 2016.

Presidential and State Primary voter registration deadline – April 18, 2016

Presidential and State Primary date – May 17, 2016

General Election voter registration deadline – October 11, 2016

General Election date – November 8, 2016

 You may vote early in person if you fulfill one of several criteria including that you will be out of the county on Election Day or you are a pregnant woman in her third trimester or you are a precinct worker assigned to work outside of your precinct or you or your spouse has surgery scheduled for Election Day.

For those who qualify, early in person voting is available between April 29, 2016 and May 16, 2016 for the Primary; between October 21, 2016 and November 7, 2016 for the General Election.

By mail:

 You may vote early by mail only if you cannot get to the polls due to advanced age, disability, or medical emergency; you are in the armed services or a dependent of someone in the armed services; you temporarily live outside the state; you are a student attending school outside the county of your residence; or you work outside your county of residence and cannot get to the polls on Election Day or during early in person voting.

Those who qualify for early voting by mail may request an absentee ballot no later than May 10, 2016 for the Primary; November 1, 2016 for the General Election. Absentee ballots must be returned by Election Day.
