Early Voting in Louisiana

In person - Any qualified  voter may vote early in person from January 26 to February 2 for the Presidential Primary, from August 23 to August 30 for the First Primary, from September 20 to September 27 for the Second Primary, and from October 21 to October 28 for the General Election at places designated by the Registrar of Voters.  Contact information for Registrars of Voters is available at www.sos.louisiana.gov/Portals/0/elections/pdf/COC-ROVlist.pdf (PDF format).

By mail - A qualified voter may vote by mail for many reasons, chief of which is that he will be temporarily outside the state or absent from his home parish during the early voting period (see above) and Election Day. The voter must fill out an Application for Absentee By Mail Ballot, available at www.sos.louisiana.gov/Portals/0/elections/pdf/request_absentee_ballot.pdf.(PDF Format) and the send the application to his parish's Registrar of Voters. Addresses for Registrars of Voters are available at www.sos.louisiana.gov/Portals/0/elections/pdf/COC-ROVlist.pdf.  Absentee ballots must be returned by the day before the election.  If the voter is in the military or lives outside the country, his ballot must be returned by Election Day.”
