Early Voting in MAINE

In person - Any registered voter may vote early in person at his local Municipal Clerk's Office 30 to 45 days before the election, as soon as absentee ballots are available. No application for an absentee ballot is required. For a list of Municipal Clerk's Offices' addresses and phone numbers, see www.maine.gov/sos/cec/elec/clerk.htm.

By mail - Any registered voter may vote early by mail. The voter may apply for an absentee ballot up to three months before Election Day. Absentee ballot applications are available from the voter's local municipal clerk (to contact a municipal clerk, see www.maine.gov/sos/cec/elec/clerk.htm ). All absentee ballots must be received by a Municipal Clerk's Office by Election Day.
