Early voting

In person – A voter may vote early in person if he has a valid excuse. Valid excuses include: being away from your precinct on Election Day; having an illness or disability; serving as an election judge in another precinct; or observing a religious observance or discipline.

Early in-person voting is available 46 days prior to an election at city or township clerks offices.

Early in-person voting – September 21 to November 5

By mail – A voter may vote early by mail if he has a valid excuse (see “In person” above for valid excuses). There is no specific deadline by which absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be requested, but absentee ballots must be received either by mail or in-person delivery by 3:00 pm on Election Day.

Absentee voting by mail – Begins September 21
