Early Voting in NEW HAMPSHIRE
Early voting in person - It is not permitted in this state to vote in
person before Election Day.
By mail - A registered voter may vote early by mail if he plans to be
absent from the place where he's registered to vote on Election Day, if he's
disabled, if he cannot appear in public on Election Day due to a religious
observance, or if employment requires that he be away from the place where he's
registered during all hours polls are open. The voter may request an application
for an absentee ballot by mail or fax from his local town or city clerk 30 days
before an election. An application form is available online at
www.sos.nh.gov/absenteeappgen.pdf in PDF format. The voter may also request
an absentee ballot without using an application form by writing to his town or
city clerk and including his name, mailing address, voting address, and
signature. Absentee ballots may be submitted in person until the day before the
election. Mailed absentee ballots must reach the clerk by Election Day. A
directory of city and town clerks is available at
www.sos.nh.gov/clerks.htm.
