NORTH CAROLINA

North Carolina will elect a U.S. Senator in 2014


State Primary voter registration deadline – April 11, 2014 or in person at early voting between April 24 and May 3, 2014.

State Primary date – May 6, 2014


State Primary runoff date (if necessary) – July 15, 2014


General Election voter registration deadline – October 10, 2014 or in person at early voting between October 23 and November 1, 2014.

General Election date – November 4, 2014

Early voting –

In person – Any voter may register and/or vote early in person at One Stop Absentee Voting sites, no excuse required.

In person early voting for the Primary begins April 24, 2014 and ends May 3, 2014.

In person early voting for the General Election begins October 23, 2014 and ends November 1, 2014.

By mail –

Any voter may vote early by mail, no excuse required.

Primary absentee ballots must be requested by April 29, 2014. Marked ballots delivered in person must be received by the County Board of Elections no later than May 5, 2014. Marked ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than May 6, 2014 and received no later than three days after the election.

General Election absentee ballots must be requested by October 28, 2014. Marked ballots delivered in person must be received by the County Board of Elections no later than November 3, 2014. Marked ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than November 4, 2014 and received no later than three days after the election.
