Voting early in person is not permitted.
By mail –
A voter may vote early by mail only if he has a valid
excuse. Valid excuses include: being absent from the state during all of the
hours polls are open on Election Day; being absent from your city or town on
Election Day because you are a student or spouse of a student at an
institution of higher learning within the state; being ill or disabled or
confined to a nursing home; being unable to vote on Election Day due to
religious tenets; being out of the state due to military service (including
the spouse of the soldier); or being assigned as a poll worker outside your
precinct on Election Day.
Completed applications for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be witnessed
or notarized and received by the local Board of Canvassers no later than 21
days before a Primary or General Election. Marked ballots must be received
no later than Election Day to be counted.
