Early voting

In person – A voter who qualifies for an absentee ballot (see below) may apply for and vote his absentee ballot in person once absentee ballots are ready up until the day before the election.

Early in-person voting – September 22 to November 5

By mail – In order to vote early by mail, a voter must meet one of several criteria. Among the acceptable reasons for voting absentee are: the voter is 65 or older; physical disability; the voter will be on vacation on Election Day; the voter is a member of the armed forces and/or lives overseas; and the voter will not be able to vote “for reasons of employment.”

Applications for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots may be made at any time during the year, but must be received by the county registration office no later than January 17 for the Presidential Primary; June 8 for the State Primary; and November 2 for the General Election. Ballots must be returned by the close of the polls on Election Day.
