CALIFORNIA

California will elect a Governor and a U.S. Senator in 2018.

Primary Election voter registration deadline – May 21, 2018
Primary Election date – June 5, 2018

General Election voter registration deadline – October 22, 2018
General Election date – November 6, 2018

Early voting –

In person – Any voter may vote early in person, no excuse required, using his absentee ballot (see “By mail” below).  Absentee ballots are available 29 days before Election Day.  For detailed information on early voting, including locations, contact your county elections office.  Contact information for county elections offices is available at http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/county-elections-offices/.

By mail – Any voter may vote early by mail, no excuse required.  Requests for
absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be received no later than May 29, 2018 for the Primary Election; October 30, 2018 for the General Election.  Completed absentee ballots must postmarked by the day of the election and received no later than three days after the election.  A voter may bring his absentee/vote-by-mail ballot to his polling place on Election Day.
