In person –  

Massachusetts voters may vote early in person for the General Election with no excuse required.  There is no early voting for the Primary Election.

The early voting period for the General Election is October 22 through November 2, 2018. 

By mail –  

Massachusetts voters may vote by mail if they will be away from their city or town on Election Day, they are disabled, or if religious belief prevents them. 

While there is no official deadline for applying for a vote-by-mail ballot, voters should allow time for their requests to be processed, receive their ballots, and return their ballots by Election Day.  The application for a vote-by-mail ballot is available at
